VNS Therapy
VNS (vagus nerve stimulation) Therapy is a unique treatment approach now available specifically for treatment-resistant depression. VNS Therapy is indicated for use as an adjunctive long-term treatment of chronic or recurrent depression for patients 18 years of age or older who are experiencing a major depressive episode and have not had an adequate response to four or more adequate antidepressant treatments.
What is VNS Therapy?
VNS Therapy has been shown to provide significant quality of life improvements. Benefits include increased energy, improved relationships with friends and family members, and better ability to function at work and in daily activities.1 Adding VNS Therapy has been shown to succeed when other antidepressant treatments have not worked or have stopped working. The effectiveness of VNS Therapy improves over time and the benefits usually last long term.

I am now offering in-home services, including diagnosis, medication management,
Vagus Nerve Stimulation, and psychotherapy. There are people in our community who are either home-bound
or who simply want the convenience of in-home services.
Although more and more people these days are receiving services at
psychiatrist's offices, some people, especially those with a high profile,
prefer the additional confidentiality afforded by in-home treatment.
In-home care is also of interest to people who are recovering from surgery or have impaired mobility for other reasons. People who can't fit an office
visit into their busy schedules will also find this service to be an attractive alternative.
In-home psychiatric services are not covered by health insurance plans and must be paid for at
the time they are requested, but many patients believe that the benefits outweigh the cost.
VISA, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and Paypal are accepted.
For your convenience, payment can be made online. Appointments can be requested online and will be confirmed by telephone.
I have been practicing psychiatry in Lake County for over 20 years
and have been teaching many local primary care physicians how to treat mood
disorders, such as Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety
Disorder, Seasonal Affective Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder, as well as Attention Deficit Disorder.
Over the years, I have occasionally provided in-home services by special request. In response
to an increasing demand I am now offering in-home psychiatric diagnosis and treatment to the community as a regular service.
Appointments can be arranged through my office at (219) 865-9999.
